This grant is intended for British Columbia post-secondary institutions wishing to improve the sustainability of current open educational practices, resources, support, and training on their campuses.
Call for Proposals: OER for Health Care Assistant
BCcampus has identified gaps in available OER for health care assistant (HCA) programs. With financial support from the Ministry, BCcampus will distribute grants to institutions, faculty members, or practitioners in B.C. and the Yukon for the development of open educational resources for HCA programs, with the goal of creating OER that will contribute to a Zero Textbook Cost (ZTC) program for health care assistants.
Call for Proposals: OER Development for the Trades
This call for proposals is for OER development funded by BCcampus in order to increase and improve the application, awareness, and sustainability of open education in trades training. The Open Education for Trades Grant may also be used for, but is not limited to, the development of open textbooks, instructor resources, media, open test banks, or ancillary resources.
Expression of Interest: Identifying and Reviewing Available OER for First-year Engineering Programs in B.C.
This expression of interest is for individuals, groups, or institutions and their representatives (e.g., faculty members, articulation committees, teaching and learning centres, libraries, and OER working groups) in British Columbia that are interested in completing the work of identifying, aligning, and reviewing available OER with reference to the common curriculum for first-year engineering.

Review an Open Textbook
BCcampus is looking for qualified textbook reviewers from British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and the Yukon to review existing open textbooks in the B.C. Open Textbook Collection. Where appropriate, we are also asking faculty to consider adopting the textbook they review in their courses, should the textbook meet their need.
An honorarium of $250 will be provided to eligible and qualified individuals who complete, submit, and permit the open publication of the review, on an open textbook in the B.C. Open Textbook Collection under a CC BY licence.

Call for Nominations: Awards for Excellence in Open Education
The Awards for Excellence in Open Education recognize outstanding contributions to the open education movement in British Columbia. These contributions may include significant leadership, OER development, research, or advocacy by faculty, students, support staff, or administrators at post-secondary institutions in B.C. or others that support the post-secondary system in B.C. Individuals or teams may be recognized.
Anyone may propose a nomination, but individuals may not self-nominate. Individual award nominations are made in writing via the online form (see below). The Open Education team at BCcampus adjudicates the award each month. Award winners will receive a certificate of recognition and be profiled on the BCcampus website.
