Simon Fraser University Webcast Information and Requirements
Webcast Location: http://www.tlcentre.sfu.ca/broadcast/
Adobe Flash Player 10 is required to view SFU’s streaming video webcasts. Please ensure you have the most recent version of the free Adobe Flash Player, and that your computer meets the minimum system requirements. Also, a high speed internet connection is required for reliable viewing (minimum 500kbps download speed, 200ms “ping” or latency).
Test Webcast URL
Once you have installed/updated Adobe Flash Player, please confirm that your computer and internet connection are up to specification by viewing our sample webcast.
The live webcast should begin playing after some time to buffer. For a non-live streaming video (as in the sample webcast linked above), you can move the playhead to any part of the video, but please note this may interrupt the stream and cause it to briefly re-buffer again. This “scan” feature is not available during live webcasts.
Social Media Backchannel:
Twitter hashtag: #opening11
Our communications team will be monitoring the backchannel that day (via @bccampus) so webcast viewers can contribute to the discussion using the hashtag. We’ll make every effort to communicate your questions/comments to the presenters and participants in the room in real time.
