MAchine-Readable Cataloging records (MARC) for the B.C. Open Collection are created to the standard outlined by the British Columbia Library Association’s (BCLA) Cataloguing and Technical Services Interest Group (BCCAT).
Whether you call them MARC records, MARC-compatible, or MARC format, they all refer to a cataloguing system developed to ensure there is an accessible bibliographic description for all of the content created for and curated by BCcampus Open Education.
As new content is created, curated, or revisions to existing materials are amended, the new MARC records will be posted to the BCELN website by B.C. Open Education Librarians (BCOEL) and in OutLook OnLine a tool that allows a single search across all public and post-secondary library catalogues in the province.
